Welcome to ADVOCATES NETWORK ~ dedicated to helping all individuals with disabilities achieve the most integrated and independent life possible, living, working, and recreating in the community. We are family members and friends of youth and adults with developmental and emotional disabilities. Out goal is to advocate for adequate residential, transportation, respite, recreational and employment services in Kane and Kendall counties in Illinois.

  • SERVICES NEEDED:

  • TRANSPORTATION: Lack of transportation prevents people with disabilities from being employed and participation in community life.
  • HOUSING: Adults are living with their aging parents because thy have nowhere else to go.
  • RESPITE: Temporary care is necessary to provide some releif to parents caring for persons with disabilities.
  • RECREATION: Fun and physical activity is necessary for everyone to lead a healthy life.
  • JOBS: Employers need to be encouraged to hire more people with disabilities, even for a few hours per week.
  • WHAT WE DO!

  • We work with legislators to improve services.
  • We educate and motivate families to vote.
  • We direct families to locate service providers.
  • We inform and encourage families to fill out the PUNS (Priority of Urgent Need Survey) A federal mandate.
  • We developed a Disability Education Project. Our goal is to inform the community of the needs of people with disabilities.
